6 Steps To Prep Perennials For Fall
MAGAZINE SPREAD | GARDEN ETIQUETTE MAGAZINE ( SPEC AD )
Garden Etiquette Magazine is a well-known, trusted source for garden lovers to strengthen and expand their gardening skills. The company began providing tips, garden design, and articles in 1970. Their success has increased, earning the company over 7 million magazine subscribers and ranking sixth most popular downloaded magazine on Kindle. Garden Etiquette strives to provide accurate and helpful information for gardeners while maintaining a neutral, informative tone.
This magazine spread informs readers how to prepare their perennials for colder months. Articles, lists, and visuals provide bite-size, easy-to-follow information for readers. During my design process, I focused on the benefits of this magazine spread: to inform and educate readers using clear, concise text and visuals.
Current subscribers are familiar with plant care and seek trusted garden care tips. They read hard copies of Garden Etiquette Magazine or download it through Kindle or the App Store. Some readers are skimmers, some prefer in-depth explanations, and others rely on visuals to absorb information. To address each type of reader, I included an article with a quick overview of perennial maintenance, steps for perennial prep, a visual checklist, and a list of which perennials to cut back for fall. A picture-focused checklist and a list of which perennials to cut back provide quick guide references. They can be kept and referred to or printed to provide step-by-step gardening instructions.
